Vol: 45, No.55 MISSION SUNDAY (29TH Sunday) ( B) October 21 2018

Mass for the Evangelization of Peoples
ENTRANCE ANTIPHON
To you I call; for you will surely heed me, O God; turn your ear to me; hear my words. Guard me as the apple of your eyes; in the shadow of your wings protect me. (Ps 17:6, 8)
PENITENTIAL RITE
“Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” This is the missionary command that Jesus gave to his disciples at the time of his ascension. The World Mission Sunday was instituted by Pope Pius XI in 1926, that is, 92 years ago. Ever since, much effort has been put in to take the life-giving message of the gospel to the four corners of the world; and the Church has grown. The Pontifical Society for the Propagation of the Faith, missionary congregations that spare missionaries, men and women in consecration who pray for the missions and the ever eager members of the laity have all contributed to the success of the missions. As the Lord Jesus always accompanies the Church to the close of the age, let us earnestly pray that we may become his chosen instruments for a vibrant reawakening of the missionary spirit in the Church. (Pause)

I Confess to almighty God...
Glory to God...

A reading from the Book of Isaiah (60:1-6)
Arise, shine; for your light has come and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold, darkness the peoples; but the Lord will arise upon you, and his glory will be seen upon you. And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. Lift up your eyes round about, and see; they all gather together, they come to you; your sons shall come from far, and your daughters shall be carried in the arms. Then you shall see and be radiant, your heart shall thrill and rejoice; because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you, the wealth of the nations shall come to you. A multitude of camels shall cover you, the young camels of Midian and Ephah; all those from Sheba shall
