Vol: 45, No.25 EASTER SUNDAY ( B) April 01 2018
The Lord is truly risen, Alleluia. To him be glory and power for all the ages of eternity. Alleluia, Alleluia. (Lk 24:34)
The birth and the resurrection, of Jesus are joyful events. In both these instances there is a movement of people towards Jesus to experience what has happened. The shepherds in the field who received the good news went to Bethlehem and were glad to see the Child Jesus. The Wise Men came searching for the Child and when they found him they fell down and worshipped him and in their joy offered him gifts. Mary Magdalene who found the tomb empty ran to inform Peter and the other disciples. On being told, Peter and the beloved disciple ran to the tomb. They then came to the realization that Jesus had risen. There is no better news in Christianity than to proclaim the resurrection of Jesus. The Lord has allowed us to experience the wonder of the resurrection once again. As we live our lives in the firm hope of being raised by God, let us rejoice because Christ has been raised. (Pause)
I Confess to almighty God/and to you,/ my brothers and sisters,/ that I have greatly sinned,/ in my thoughts and in my words,/ in what I have done/and in what I have failed to do,/ through my fault,/ through my fault,/ through my most grievous fault;/ therefore I ask blessed Mary ever Virgin,/ all the Angels and Saints,/ and you, my brothers and sisters,/ to pray for me to Lord our God.
Glory to God ...
O God, who on this day, through your Only Begotten Son, have conquered death and unlocked for us the path to eternity, grant, we pray, that we who keep the solemnity of the Lord’s Resurrection may, through the renewal brought by your Spirit, rise up in the light of life. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spriit, one God, for ever and ever.
(In this speech Peter presents in a nutshell the story of Jesus beginning in Galilee and ending in Jerusalem with his death and resurrection. His speech ends with a call to believe in Jesus).
A reading from the Acts of the Apostles (10:34a, 37-43)

And we are witnesses to all that he did both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They put him to death by hanging him on a tree; but God raised him on the third day and made him manifest; not to all the people but to us, who were chosen by God as witnesses, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. And he commanded us to
