ENTRANCE ANTIPHON
See, I have God for my help. The Lord sustains my soul. I will sacrifice to you with willing heart, and praise your name, O Lord, for it is good. (Ps 53:6, 8)
PENITENTIAL RITE

It is a fact that business establishments and corporate companies want to extend their domain to newer areas. That is why we have multinational companies everywhere in the world. Such establishments create job opportunities, travel facilities and wealth for aspiring job seekers. All these are desirable. But often the business houses want to extend themselves for making more money and make more profit for which they may employ any means. But when God seeks to establish his kingdom, it is wholly for the benefit of his people. As a consequence there is no ostentatious show of wealth and power, no visible structures, and no territorial boundaries. The kingdom of God is a spiritual reality; it has a humble beginning and conditions for membership are filial trust towards God and an open mind. Yes, dear brothers and sisters, kingdom of God has become a reality through the redemptive work of Jesus but its advancement depends on us. Are we willing to work for Godís cause? (Pause)

I confess to almighty God/....

FIRST READING
(The author says that the sovereign God judges with mildness and shows great restraint in governance though He can act the way He chooses. This is a lesson that human beings should show forbearance and kindness when dealing with fellow human beings).
A reading from the Book of Wisdom (12:13, 16-19)
There is no other god besides thee, whose care is for all men, to whom thou shouldst prove that thou hast not judged unjustly. For thy strength is the source of righteousness, and thy sovereignty over all causes thee to spare all. For thou dost show thy strength when men doubt the completeness of thy power, and dost rebuke any insolence among those who know it. Thou who art sovereign in strength dost judge with mildness, and with great forbearance thou dost govern us; for thou hast power to act whenever thou dost choose. Through such works thou hast taught thy people that the righteous man must be kind, and thou hast filled thy sons with good hope, because thou givest repentance for sins.
The Word of the Lord
PSALM (85)
Response: O Lord, you are good and forgiving.
O Lord, you are good and forgiving, full of love to all who call. Give heed, O Lord, to my prayer and attend to the sound of my voice. R/
