ENTRANCE ANTIPHON
Proclaim a joyful sound and let it be heard; proclaim to the ends of the earth: The Lord has freed his people, alleluia. (Isa 48:20)
PENITENTIAL RITE

The Holy Spirit is the source of every transformation. To understand everything that Jesus has taught us, in order not to suffer the absence of Jesus in our lives, in order to be strengthened, comforted, guided and inspired we need the Comforter, the Holy Spirit of God. It’s the Holy Spirit who enables us to love and live the commandment of God. Jesus tells us today, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments,” and to keep the commandments of Jesus he sends us a helper in the person of the Holy Spirit. We are the dwelling places of the Spirit of God who guides, leads and teaches us to love and live the ways of God in our lives. Hence let us ask ourselves: Do I believe in the presence of the Holy Spirit in my life? Do I listen to the guidance, promptings and the inspirations of the Spirit of God in my life to live a worthy Christian life? (Pause)

I confess to almighty God/....

FIRST READING
(Philip belonged to the group of seven deacons ordained to oversee the distribution of charity, but turns out to be a messenger of the kingdom of God).
A reading from the Acts of the Apostles (8:5-8, 14-17)
Philip went down to a city of Samaria, and proclaimed to them the Christ. And the multitudes with one accord gave heed to what was said by Philip, when they heard him and saw the signs which he did. For unclean spirits came out of many who were possessed, crying with a loud voice; and many who were paralyzed or lame were healed. So there was much joy in that city.
Now when the apostles at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent to them Peter and John, who came down and prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit; for it had not yet fallen on any of them, but they had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then they laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.
The Word of the Lord
