Vol: 43, No.47 21ST SUNDAY OF THE YEAR ( C) August 23 2016
Turn your ear, O Lord, and answer me; save the servant who trusts in you, my God. Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I cry to you all the day long. (Ps 85:1-3)

The person from the crowd who raised the question about the number of people who will be saved represents the many that raise such concerns. But nobody needs to have such concerns for Jesus says, “Men will come from east and west, and north and south, and sit at the table in the kingdom of God.” StJohn in his vision saw a great multitude which no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and tongues, stand before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands. So the real question is not how many would be saved but whether I would be among the saved. The way how to get there is clear for us, which is through following the way of the cross. Am I working towards my salvation? (Pause)

I confess to almighty God/and to you,/ my brothers and sisters,/that I have greatly sinned,/in my thoughts and in my words,/in what I have done and in what I have failed to do,/through my fault,/ through my fault,/through my most grievous fault;/therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin,/all the Angels and Saints,/and you,/my brothers and sisters,/to pray for me to the Lord our God.

And they shall bring all your brethren from all the nations as an offering to the Lord, upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon dromedaries, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, says the
