Vol: 43, No.33 THE MOST HOLY TRINITY ( C) May 22 2016
Blest be God the Father, and the Only Begotten Son of God, and also the Holy Spirit, for he has shown us his merciful love.

Today we celebrate the Feast of the Holy Trinity. Trinity is the linguistic term for the One God who has been revealed through the incarnation of the Son in Jesus and the sending of the Holy Spirit and who has called humanity to life in communion with God. The three persons of the Trinity the Father, the Son and the Spirit are individual persons but mysteriously united in one Godhead. Hence, unity and harmony are the key words in understanding the Trinity. It is possible to achieve perfect harmony in a musical concert where different voices and instruments blend into a harmonious one. It is possible to achieve harmony in marriage when God makes of the two spouses into one. As Christians are we united? (Pause)

I confess to almighty God/and to you,/my brothers and sisters,/ that I have greatly sinned,/in my thoughts and in my words, /in what I have done and in what I have failed to do,/through my fault,/through my fault,/through my most grievous fault;/therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin,/all the Angels and Saints,/and you,/my brothers and sisters,/to pray for me to the Lord our God.
Glory to God in the highest...

God our Father, who by sending into the world the Word of truth and the Spirit of sanctification made known to
the human race your wondrous mystery, grant us, we pray, that in professing the true faith, we may acknowledge the Trinity of eternal glory and adore your Unity, powerful in majesty. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
(This passage from the Book of Proverbs is an encomium to Wisdom personified. Wisdom was by the side of God when the world was created).
A reading from the Book of Proverbs (8:22-31)
The Wisdom of God cries aloud, the Lord created me at the beginning of his work, the first of his acts of old. Ages ago I was set up, at the first, before the beginning of the earth. When there were no depths I was brought forth, when there were no springs abounding with water. Before the mountains had been shaped, before the hills, I was brought forth; before he had made the earth with its fields, or the first of the dust of the world. When he established the heavens, I was there, when he drew a circle on the face of the deep, when he made firm the skies above, when he established the fountains of the deep, when he assigned to the sea its limit, so that the waters might not transgress his command, when he marked out the foundations of the earth, then I was beside him, like a master workman; and I was daily his delight, rejoicing before him always, rejoicing in his inhabited world and delighting in the sons of men.
