Vol: 43, No.26 2ND SUNDAY OF EASTER ( C) April 03 2016
Like newborn infants, you must long for the pure, spiritual milk, that in him you may grow to salvation, alleluia. (1 Pet 2:2)

On the eve of the Divine Mercy Sunday 2015 Pope Francis has declared 2016 as the Jubilee Year. This Holy Year began last year on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception will end on 20 November 2016, the Sunday dedicated to Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe and living face of the Fatherís mercy. The Pope wants his Church of 1.2 billion members to be more merciful and less rigid towards sinners and has said that the Jubilee will be an occasion for all members to rediscover the need to be forgiving and generous. Today we celebrate the Divine Mercy Sunday which is a special Sunday when the Divine Floodgates from Heaven are wide open and Jesus offers us the total forgiveness of all sins and punishment to any soul, who goes to Confession and receives him in Holy Communion. Do we trust in Godís mercy that never fails? (Pause)

I confess to almighty God/ and to you,/my brothers and sisters,/ that I have greatly sinned, / in my thoughts and in my words, / in what I have done and in what I have failed to do, / through my fault, / through my fault, / through my most grievous fault; / therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin,/ all the Angels and Saints, / and you, / my brothers and sisters, / to pray for me to the Lord our God.
Glory to God in the highest...

God of everlasting mercy, who in the very recurrence of the paschal feast
kindle the faith of the people you have made your own, increase, we pray, the grace you have bestowed, that all may grasp and rightly understand in what font they have been washed, by whose Spirit they have been reborn, by whose Blood they have been redeemed. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God....
(In this third and final Major Summary, the miracles of the apostles again come to the fore; it is not just Peter but other apostles as well who perform them. The summary also mentions the reaction of the people to the Christian message).
A reading from the Acts of the Apostles (5:12-16)
Many signs and wonders were done among the people by the hands of the apostles. And the faithful were all together in Solomonís Portico. None of the rest dared to join them, but the people held them in high honour. And more than ever believers were added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women, so that they even carried out the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and pallets, that as Peter came by at least his shadow might fall on some of them. The people also gathered from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing the sick and those afflicted with unclean spirits, and they were all healed.
